Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Groysman considers that the change of the career and technical education system in Ukraine is of strategic importance for the country.
The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada said this at the Thursday plenary meeting.
"In fact that is a strategic issue for the state. To put it mildly, the status of the career and technical education is unsatisfactory," he said.
The Chairperson of the Ukrainian Parliament also called the transfer of financing of career and technical education establishments to the local level a "strategic mistake" of the Ukrainian Parliament envisioned by the State Budget of Ukraine for 2016. "As far as village budgets are different we cannot transfer the financing of career and technical education establishments to the local level," he said.
Groysman welcomed Verkhovna Rada's decision to adopt respective amendments to the Budget Code of Ukraine and to the state budget on Thursday. The amendments now oblige cities of regional subordination — regional centers, to finance career and technical education.
